If on an autumn’s night a sommelier...

The Autumn in Diversus restaurant begins with the first of a series of special dinners that will focus on the relationship between food and wine.

Albergo del Chianti and the Diversus restaurant have decided to present a series of events dedicated to this theme, which will allow those who approach the fascinating world to learn the basics of this knowledge for the first time.

Tasting y ou learn!

Do not worry: you're not at school! No long explanations, n othing serious or technical.

You will not have to memorize aftertaste, tannins, vintages and cellars' names.

The events "what if one evening for dinner ..." will feature a set menu dinner for € 45 per person, with a different wine paired with each course.

Every evening will see the presence of a certified sommelier, who will talk in a discursive way the world of wine and combinations, giving some basic information on wine making knowledge.

Each appointment will include a fun moment: the game of the Wine Guessing.

The sommelier will help the diners to guess the contents of some bottles with the hidden label, combining a moment of fun with the pleasure of the table and the possibility of learning something.
The Menu of 6 October

The first appointment of " what if one evening for dinner ..." will take place on October 6 and will include the following menu, prepared by the chef of Diversus and complete with wine pairings agreed with the sommelier who will be our guest for the occasion:

  • Sea bass tartare with Vermentino obizzo 2016
  • Seared shrimp with burrata with cuttlefish ink and Ferrari Maximum Brut
  • Fondant of Sienese ricotta with Tieffenbrunner Sauvignon Blanc 2016
  • Salmon with rice and vegetables with Gewurtztraminer Dveri Pax 2015
  • Dark chocolate fudge with late harvest Cantina Roeno.

An October of food, wine and music

But autumn is just beginning: in addition to periodic dinners with sommeliers, Diversus will offer a rich calendar of events, designed to make our restaurant a meeting point.

A meeting point for those who love a sophisticated cuisine, mainly based on fish, combined with good wines and accompanied by music.

Exclusive evenings based on jazz, food, oil and wine tastings in the company of some of the main farms in the area.

As always, there will be the ability of our chef Roberto Galli.

There will, of course, be the beauty of the historic Piazza Matteotti in Greve and the Chianti of autumn: a region that in this season offers its best, bursting with colors and scents.
